Ukraine discloses only condition for talks with Russia
WORLD 19 August 2022 - 10:05
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has stressed that a dialogue with Russia may be held only in case of a complete withdrawal of the occupying forces from Ukrainian territory.
Besides the conditions for holding negotiations with Russia, President Zelenskyy reminded about the critical situation around the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant and stressed the need for the withdrawal of Russian troops from the territory of the nuclear power plant, RBC-Ukraine reports with reference to President Zelenskyy's statement made at a press conference following a meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and UN Secretary-General António Guterres.
The president added that during the meeting, he and Guterres agreed on the conditions of a possible stay of the IAEA delegation in Zaporizhzhya and discussed the possible development of a "grain agreement".
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba has said that during the meeting, the Ukrainian side was not forced to make concessions to put an end to the conflict.
He added that the diplomatic solution to many issues depends on the decisions of President Zelenskyy, President Erdogan and Secretary-General Guterres.
