Operation “Revenge” in detail: "surrounded separatists beg for mercy”

REPORTS 24 August 2022 - 15:35
The August operation "Revenge" of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces has become the largest of its kind after the liberation of Mount Farrukh.
The statement came online in the latest video released by Caliber.Az on its YouTube channel, which is entitled "Operation Revenge in detail: surrounded separatists begged for mercy".
In the video footage, war correspondent Hans Kloss notes that the strategic height of Buzlug – 2,374.7 metres above sea level - was liberated on August 5. Because of the mines, it is still impossible to pave a road here, but the flag of Azerbaijan already waves at the top of the height. The high ground, liberated in the speed of lightning, makes it possible to take under visual and, if necessary, fire control all the nearby heights above the Sarsang reservoir located below. There are several villages nearby, including Agdaban and Chaygovushan. During the operation “Revenge”, the units of the Azerbaijan Armed Forces generously allowed the encircled separatists to leave the area.
“At the height of Gamish, there is a post of Armenian separatists, which is under the complete control of Azerbaijani units. The scale of what has been achieved is very impressive, it is huge. The recapture of the strategic height of Buzlug makes it possible to timely detect and stop all manipulations with the Sarsang reservoir, as well as control all nearby roads and heights. New roads are being laid here. Not far away is the height of Bagirli with a height of 2,239.8 metres,” Kloss says.
Soon a new flagpole will be installed at the height of Buzlug, on which the state flag of Azerbaijan will wave even higher than the previous one.
According to Kloss, during the operation, the Azerbaijani Special Forces performed perfectly due to their excellent mountain training skills, which made it possible to quickly liberate important heights. If the tactical result of the operation was crippling the posts and bases of the separatists, then the strategic result was to prevent the separatists from entering the East Karabakh plateau from this direction.
On Mount Saribaba, engineering work is also underway, a post is being built. From this height, the entire territory up to the city of Khankandi comes under visual control.
The heights were liberated without loss, and the enemy was forced to flee immediately, leaving weapons, ammunition, ordnance and documentation behind.
“Now road and construction work is being carried out in the liberated territories. But they are hampered by the fact that the land here is literally carpeted with fresh anti-personnel mines. Nevertheless, we, having waited for the end of the work of the Azerbaijani sappers and engineering units, will tell in detail about each liberated height and its significance,” Kloss concludes.
