Why Pashinyan kept silence in Brussels and talked too much in Vladivostok?
Vadim Mansurov's arguments

The Armenian Prime Minister has made a strange new statement the degree of the absurdity of which raises a red flag, to put it mildly. The Armenian premier, it turns out, believes that Azerbaijan and Armenia have different ideas about the "formula of peace", and there was no consensus on the main issue at all.
"At the Brussels meeting Armenia and Azerbaijan failed to set common positions on the most important issue, in particular the Nagorno-Karabakh problem," Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated during a meeting with representatives of the Armenian community in Vladivostok, Armenian media reported.
Interestingly, the Armenian premier stressed that both Yerevan and Baku nevertheless wish to achieve peace. According to Pashinyan, everyone wants peace, but "everyone has his own idea, his own formula of peace."
"Azerbaijan's position is that the Nagorno-Karabakh problem has been solved and there is nothing else to negotiate about. Our position, as well as the position of the world community, does not coincide with that of Baku," Pashinyan said.
Pashinyan added that Azerbaijan's point of view is out of sync with that of Russia either. The evidence of this is the Trilateral Statement of November 10, 2020, as well as the presence of Russian peacekeepers in Karabakh.
In the context of the above, we would like to add that everything Pashinyan said is quite obvious populist nonsense, which is quite typical for an Armenian PM. He usually resorts to it when he needs to ruin someone's plans and lead the dialogue to a deadlock. In this sense, Pashinyan is indeed Armenia's 'great muddle head', where the art of muddling up negotiations is known to be passed down for generations.
Yerevan is thus once again demonstrating its clear desire to "run away" from the negotiations. Once again talking about the "Nagorno-Karabakh problem", Pashinyan irresponsibly bluffs and hypocritically tries to neutralize the agreements reached during the same Brussels meetings, where the "status of Karabakh" was not raised and is not on the agenda of the negotiations. Other agreements were reached, chief among them the drafting of a peace treaty. The organizer of the meeting - the head of the European Council Charles Michel did not discuss the "status of Karabakh" and did not touch upon this topic during the negotiations either.
At the same time, Pashinyan is blatantly lying, trying to nullify the agreements by resorting to primitive tricks. What does the blatantly false phrase "the position of the world community does not coincide with Baku's point of view" mean when the whole world recognizes Karabakh as part of Azerbaijan? Also, de facto Yerevan itself, which has never recognised the separatist "appendix", apparently fearing the opinion of the world community and the reaction of Azerbaijan.
The main Pashinyan's lie is when he says that Azerbaijan's point of view does not coincide with the position of Russia, citing for some reason the "Trilateral statement of November 10, 2020, as well as the presence of Russian peacekeepers in Nagorno-Karabakh" as an argument. So, we would like to remind Pashinyan, who suffers from amnesia, that it is Russia that supports the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan. "Armenia itself has not recognised Nagorno-Karabakh's independence, from the point of view of international law it is Azerbaijan's territory," Russian President Vladimir Putin said during a major press conference on December 17, 2020.
We would like to add that Pashinyan's tricks will definitely not do Yerevan any good, because they completely undermine, first of all, the already established work of the tripartite commissions, as well as the preparation of the draft peace treaty between Azerbaijan and Armenia. Importantly, Moscow also conducts active work in the commissions. Such tricks of Pashinyan may lead only to one thing - when Azerbaijan realizes that dialogue with Yerevan is senseless, it will be forced to use the language of force as the only method of coercion.
Farhad Mammadov, political analyst, and director of the South Caucasus Research Centre, expressed similar thoughts on his Telegram channel.
In his opinion, "again, Pashinyan is substituting concepts and manipulating expressions".
"Status" of what, within what limits, and for whom, and most importantly where, as part of which state?", asks the political analyst, thus noting that everything Pashinyan said is complete nonsense of meanings.
With such actions and statements, Mammadov believes, "the Armenian prime minister demonstrates that he is active, but he is not successful...".
He also believes that there is an impression that all these leaks about the Armenian Prime Minister having instructed to prepare the text of the peace treaty, etc., are man-made.
"There is no official confirmation, but there is manipulation through leaks," the political analyst notes.
But these manipulations, according to Mammadov, have a short-term effect.
"And if the target audience of these leaks is Azerbaijan, then I must disappoint the Armenian leadership. Their whole plan is crushed by the daily reports of the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defence on shootings on the border and in the zone of temporary responsibility of the RPC in Azerbaijan," Mammadov says.
In his opinion, Pashinyan himself, through his intrigues, is pushing Azerbaijan towards a radical solution to the issue.
"Pashinyan is seriously playing around, and for him, the map of the country may be a picture, but for Azerbaijan, the map of its territory is sacred - as it was demonstrated in the 44-day war and after it..." sums up the political scientist.
