Meta may open representative office in Uzbekistan

The management of the US Meta Platforms Inc. and the management of the IT park in Uzbekistan’s Tashkent city have discussed the possibility of opening a representative office of the company in Uzbekistan.

Managing director of the company in China, Mongolia and Central Asia George Chen visited Tashkent, Interfax reports referring to the IT park.

“The participants agreed on the possible opening of Meta’s representative office in Uzbekistan following the meeting,” the message says.

The Meta delegation also reviewed the activity of the IT park, benefits, preferences and opportunities for IT companies in the country. The sides also discussed opportunities for cooperation in the education sector.

The IT park was established in Tashkent in July 2019 and has six branches in other cities of Uzbekistan. About 30 start-up projects and about 200 centres for training and development of information technologies operate on the basis of the IT park in the country.
