President Aliyev lauds Saudi Arabia support for Azerbaijan during Armenian occupation

President Ilham Aliyev has said that during Armenia's occupation, Saudi Arabia was one of the few countries that constantly supported Azerbaijan's just cause.

The Azerbaijani leader made the remarks at a meeting with Saudi Arabian Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud on October 4, Report informs.

"After the liberation of our lands from occupation, we are implementing a large-scale reconstruction programme and we want to see companies from fraternal countries as partners," the president noted.

The president also added that the beginning of the year was very memorable, as a big power plant project financed by a Saudi Arabian company was launched.

"Our relations are developing in the political and economic spheres. I am sure that more tourists will visit our country because the number of COVID-19 cases has already decreased and the situation has normalised," the president added.
