The Polish National Philharmonic Orchestra commemorated Azerbaijan’s Victory Day by hosting a concert in the capital, Warsaw.

According to Report citing the state diaspora committee, it was organized together with the Azerbaijani Embassy and a Foundation supporting the Azerbaijani diaspora residing in Poland.

The Chairman of the committee, Fuad Muradov, and the Azerbaijani Ambassador to Poland, Nargiz Gurbanova, attended the concert on the occasion of the holiday, in addition to Turkish diplomats, public and political Polish figures, as well as members of the public and representatives of the local Turkish and Azerbaijani communities.

Speaking before the event, Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to Poland, Nargiz Gurbanova, noted that the city of Shusha, referred to as Azerbaijan’s temple of music and Caucasus conservatory, gave the music world several genius masters, comparing the importance of this city for Azerbaijan with that of Vienna for Austria or Naples for Italy. She further stressed that Shusha is of great spiritual value for Azerbaijanis of the world and informed the guests that the glorious victory of Azerbaijan is simultaneously the embodiment of the triumph of international law and justice.

The Chairman of the Diaspora Committee, Fuad Muradov, noted that the musical event, which was performed by great masters of Poland and Azerbaijan, makes a great contribution to the development of cultural relations between the two countries. Shusha city was historically the center of Azerbaijani culture and public and political life, the official recalled, saying that in many countries of the world, including Poland, a number of events are held in connection with the announcement of the decree of President Ilham Aliyev marking 2022 “The year of Shusha”. Emphasizing that this year also marks the 550th anniversary of historical relations and the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries, the Chairman noted that the Polish and Azerbaijani peoples historically contributed to each other’s culture.

The Polish Simfonia Varsovia orchestra performed at the concert, led by Azerbaijan’s Eyyub Guliyev, playing works by both Azerbaijani and Polish composers.

An exhibition reflecting the victory from 2020 and presenting a music CD recorded by the Polish “Orphee Classics” was organized in the concert hall.
