Moldovan TV channel prepares special report on Aghali village

The popular Moldovan "Prime" TV channel has prepared a special report on Zabgilan’s Aghali village that entitled "Life in Ruins".

TV channel journalist Elena Derzhanskaya and cameraman Ruslan Sholkan visited the village to show the restoration and reconstruction work carried out in Azerbaijan’s liberated lands, Azertag reports.

The "smart village" is one of the largest initiatives for the repatriation of Azerbaijani refugees. The area, whose homes and lands were previously burned, has already been transformed into a modern community with a population of more than 300 people, the report said.

“We are in Aghali village of the Zangilan district. There are a kindergarten, a school, a supermarket, a bank, and a hospital. Some 325 people live here. However, the situation was not simple. A year ago, most of the residents were internally displaced people and they have already returned to their native lands,” it added.

“There are houses with neat green roofs, a fresh lawn, solar-powered street lights and boards with the words "Please keep clean!". “When you arrive in Aghali village, located in southwestern Azerbaijan, you feel like you are at an advertisement for an ideal village,” the report stressed.

This village was built on the ruins within one year. This territory was under Armenian occupation for almost 30 years. However, during the second Karabakh war, Baku obtained control over the village again.
