Lynne Tracy believes Russia's withdrawal from region can lead to end of bloodshed

    REGION  01 December 2022 - 14:42

Candidate for the post of US Ambassador to Russia Lynne Tracy has said that if Russia withdraws from the region, there will be opportunities for the US to play a stronger role and end the bloodshed.

Tracy made these remarks at hearings in the US Senate Committee on Foreign Relations this week, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Armenian media.

“The US plays a valuable role in resolving tense relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan. Of course, the disputed territories and the need to find a stable solution protecting the rights of the Armenians and Azerbaijanis living there are at the heart of the conflict,” she emphasised.

Before Tracy was nominated as the US ambassador to Russia by President Biden, she had the same position in Yerevan.
