Russia to take measures against tennis player's anti-Azerbaijan provocations

Karen Khachanov, a Russian tennis player of Armenian origin, for the second time during his performance at the Australia Open tournament committed a provocation against Azerbaijan by deceiving the public.

As azerisport.com reports, after another match at the tournament, he once again wrote on the camera lens his wishes addressed to "Artsakh" (this is how the Armenian occupiers and separatists originally called the territory of the former Nagorno-Karabakh Autonomous Republic of the Azerbaijan SSR, then all the occupied territories of Azerbaijan, and now - zone of temporary responsibility of Russian peacekeepers in the Karabakh economic region of Azerbaijan, - ed.).

In this regard, the President of the Azerbaijan Tennis Federation Oktay Asadov had a telephone conversation with the head of the Russian Tennis Federation Shamil Tarpischev. Asadov noted the inadmissibility of such provocations on the part of the Russian tennis player and expressed confidence that the most stringent measures would be taken against him. In turn, Tarpischev expressed serious concern about this issue and assured that appropriate measures would be taken in this regard.
