Baku: Armenia, instead of returning to peace talks, creates artificial obstacles

Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry Spokesman Aykhan Hajizade has accused Armenia of creating artificial obstacles rather than returning to peace talks.

He made the remarks in response to a statement made a few days ago by Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan, who is on a visit to Germany, Caliber.Az reports, citing the ministry press service.

Mirzoyan said that Azerbaijan hinders the negotiation process, despite this, Armenia is committed to the peace process and has considered the proposals submitted by Azerbaijan for a peace agreement.

The proposals mentioned by Mirzoyan were presented by Azerbaijan not a couple, but 15 days ago.

"At the same time, as evidenced by the Armenian foreign minister's statement, the Armenian side allows manipulation of the peace agreement negotiation process and seeks to mislead the international community by posing as a constructive side.

As you know, it was the Armenian side that violated the agreed course of the negotiation process on the peace agreement and refused to negotiate in December last year. Now, instead of returning to peace negotiations, it creates artificial obstacles to this process.

Unlike Armenia, Azerbaijan stands for holding negotiations on the text of the peace agreement in a short time and is always ready for this," Hajizade said.
