Azerbaijan's religious figures call Karabakh Armenians for peaceful coexistence
KARABAKH 28 March 2023 - 16:18
Representatives of Azerbaijani religious communities have appealed to Armenians living in Karabakh economic region and urged them to coexist peacefully.
The appeal was made after the religious figures visited the Guba genocide memorial complex on March 28, according to Report.
Siyavush Heydarov, deputy chairman of the State Committee for Work with Religious Structures, noted that equal conditions had been created in the country for all religious and ethnic groups.
“We see how important the traditions of tolerance, multiculturalism and coexistence that have emerged in Azerbaijan are for the world. Tolerance, multicultural values, in particular national and religious solidarity in our country, played a special role in achieving victory in the Patriotic War,” he said.
According to Heydarov, we now face the task to protect, strengthen, reinforce and pass on these values, a national treasure to the new generation: "Processes occurring in the world and deepening of the spiritual and moral crisis show that Azerbaijan has created a platform, a strategy and a model, which promotes peace in the world. All existing religious confessions and communities in our country have been particularly active and have played a special role in its creation.”
"Our call once again declares that the time has come to put an end to enmity, to live and work together," he added said.
