A provocation was committed by Armenia in the Zangilan direction of the state border, as Caliber.Az reported on June 15.

In the beginning, the fire was opened on the Azerbaijani border guards from small arms, and then mortar artillery and loitering ammunition joined in.

As a result of the retaliatory actions of the Azerbaijani State Border Service, the post from where the Armenian Armed Forces began the provocation was destroyed. This is evidenced by the video footage available to Caliber.Az.

Earlier, the Azerbaijani Border Service reported that on June 15, 2023, at 08:45 am, as a result of shelling from the territory of Armenia, a serviceman of the State Border Service of Azerbaijan, who served at the border checkpoint in Lachin, was wounded.

The opposite side’s firing point was suppressed by return fire and the operational situation is under the control of our units, the State Border Service reported.

The wounded soldier was given first aid and there is no threat to life.

"The entire responsibility for this provocation lies with the military-political leadership of Armenia," the State Border Service stated.
