Iran's foreign minister urges swift implementation of UAE agreements

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian expressed gratitude for the warm hospitality of the Emirati hosts during his recent visit to the UAE, while urging quicker pace for the implementation of bilateral agreements between the two nations.

At a meeting with his Emirati counterpart, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed, on a sideline meeting at the United Nations General Assembly on Thursday, Amirabdollahian underscored the need to implement bilateral agreements promptly in light of fast-paced regional developments, Tasnim reports.

"We are witnessing rapid developments in the region, and it is necessary to implement the bilateral agreements between the two countries at the same pace," stated Amirabdollahian during the meeting.

Iranian Foreign Minister also highlighted the substantial trade volume between the two nations and stressed the shared commitment, as discussed in his meeting with Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, President of the United Arab Emirates, to elevate trade relations.

He emphasized the importance of preparations for the upcoming session of the Joint Commission for Cooperation between the two countries.

In extending an invitation from Iranian President to Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, and extending another invitation to his Emirati counterpart for a visit to Iran, Amirabdollahian reinforced the commitment to strengthening diplomatic ties.

Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed expressed satisfaction with the meeting and thanked Amirabdollahian for the invitations. He affirmed his readiness to visit Iran in the near future and stressed the importance of preparations for the UAE President's visit to Iran.

Additionally, Sheikh Abdullah announced the UAE's willingness to host the next Joint Commission session and awaited the finalization of the proposed date. He also emphasized the significance of signing an agreement to prevent double taxation, aiming to bolster trade between the two nations.

The ministers also discussed various areas of common cooperation, including consular collaboration.
