First in 30 years: Qarabağ FK to play historic game in Khankendi

The 1/8 final stage of the Azerbaijan Football Cup ends today, on December 21.

According to Azerisport.com, two more matches will be held on the fourth and final day of play.

The first match of the day will be held in Khankendi. In the historical game, Qarabağ FK will test the representative of the league MOIK.

The meeting, which will go down in history as the first football match in 30 years in the liberated territories of Azerbaijan, will begin at 14:00.

The final match of the stage will be held in Baku between the teams of “Neftchi” and “Garadagh Lokbatan”. The match in "Neftchi Arena" will start at 18:00.

Earlier the teams “Sabah”, “Sumgayit”, “Araz-Nakhchivan”, “Gabala”, “Sabail” and “Zira” reached the 1/4 finals.

Previously, six games of the 1/8 finals took place: Sumgayit - Karvan - 3:1, Kapaz - Sabah - 3:4, Iravan - Araz-Nakhchivan - 2:8, Imishli - Gabala - 0:1, Sabail - Shamakhi - 6:0 , Zire – Turan-Tovuz – 2:1.

The following teams will play in the quarter-finals:

“Sabail” – “Zire”

"Araz-Nakhchivan" - "Gabala"

"Sumgayit" against the winner of the pair "Neftchi" - "Garadag-Lokbatan"

"Sabah" against the winner of the pair "Qarabagh" - MOIK

The quarterfinal matches will take place on January 30-31 and February 6-7, 2024.
