Azerbaijani Defenсe Ministry declares admission to extended military service

Azerbaijan's Defence Ministry has announced the enlistment of citizens willing to volunteer for active military service, the ministry told Caliber.Az.

From March 27 to April 26, conscripts under 30 years of age with at least general secondary education and active military service can apply to the Azerbaijani Army Training and Education Centre's admission commissions.

Applicants for admission to "preparatory courses for servicemen of extended active military service" are referred by the admission commissions to the relevant medical institutions of the Ministry of Defence for assessment of their fitness for military service. Following the decision of the military medical commissions, those found to be fit to serve are admitted to the entrance examinations.

Admission to training is granted to those who have passed examinations on physical fitness, general knowledge, professional aptitude, communication, leadership and decision-making skills, individual psychological and other qualities. Upon successful completion of the course, a contract is signed and the candidate is then assigned to a position per his qualifications.
