Protestors in Armenia cross motorway with tractors

In Armenia, protesters against the delimitation of the border with Azerbaijan have crossed the Armenia-Iran motorway with tractors.

The images published by the portal show that the residents of Armenia, dissatisfied with the actions of the authorities, used tractors to block the road. The crossing of the road took place about 130 kilometers from Yerevan, in the city of Ekegandar, Gazeta.ru reports citing Armenian 168.am portal.

Earlier this month, residents of several Armenian communities in the northeastern Tavush Province launched protests against the government's plans to hand over territory close to Azerbaijan's Gazax region.

Under the border delimitation agreement announced on April 19, Baku will regain control of four formerly Azerbaijani populated villages and surrounding areas in the Tavush region.

The villages were part of Azerbaijan during the Soviet era but have been controlled by Armenia since 1990s.
