Armenian FM highlights challenges in Yerevan-Moscow relations amid CSTO concerns

    REGION  30 April 2024 - 20:15

"There are specific challenges and issues within the framework of Armenian-Russian relations," stated Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan in an interview with Al-Jazeera, as reported by APA.

Mirzoyan emphasized, "Among these issues are matters that necessitate comprehensive mutual understanding, though such challenges exist in all relationships."

He further highlighted the role of the CSTO (Collective Security Treaty Organization) as a military-political bloc aimed at safeguarding the borders of its member states.

Mirzoyan addressed concerns within Armenian society regarding the perceived inadequacy of responses, noting that Yerevan is unwilling to participate in an ineffective mechanism. Nevertheless, Armenia continues to maintain its membership in the CSTO.
