Armenia fires at Azerbaijani army’s positions in Nakhchivan

The Armenian Armed Forces from the positions near Khachik settlement of Soylan district fired at the positions of the Azerbaijani army in the direction of Akhura settlement of Sharur district of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic by using small arms on June 14 at 07:15 (GMT+4).

The Azerbaijani army took retaliatory measures, the Azerbaijani Defence Ministry told Caliber.Az.

This incident marks the third provocation by Armenia within three days.

On June 13 at 19:50, Armenian armed forces shelled Azerbaijani army positions near the Yukhari Buzgov settlement in the Babek district of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic using small arms. Azerbaijani forces responded with retaliatory measures.

This followed an earlier attack, targeting several locations in the region after a prolonged period of calm.

On June 12, between 10:05 and 17:50, Armenian forces fired multiple times at Azerbaijani positions near Khavush in the Sharur district, Nurgut in the Ordubad district, and Guney Gishlak in the Shahbuz district of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.

Notably, the last time Armenian forces shelled Azerbaijani positions was on April 13, targeting the Tovuz district. After 61 days of calm, Armenia has decided to escalate the situation once more. These provocations coincide with destructive statements from Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, who, on June 12, effectively declared his refusal to revise constitutional provisions that infringe on Azerbaijan's territorial integrity.
