Israel accuses UN of keeping food at warehouses in Gaza

The Coordination of the Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT) has accused the UN World Food Programme of keeping food and other humanitarian supplies delivered to the Gaza Strip at warehouses.

There is a photograph of one of the warehouses with hundreds of pallets with unknown cargo, Caliber.Az reports citing the Russian media.

“What will the World Food Programme say?” the message says.

“All this food must be unloaded near the floating pier complex. There is no looting. There is just a lack of motivation,” COGAT said in a statement.

“Stop making excuses and start playing your role as a humanitarian food organisation. There is a lot to be done,” the message says.

Earlier, the UN World Food Programme announced that 2.15 million civilians in the Gaza Strip would face severe food shortages in the next few months. Proceeding from the report, food shortages "will be catastrophic" for 495,000 people.
