Japanese PM to visit Kazakhstan in August

Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida is set to visit Kazakhstan in August 2024, announced Japan's Cabinet Secretary-General Yoshimasa Hayashi at a press conference, Caliber.Az reports citing Russian media.
"Prime Minister Kishida will visit Kazakhstan in August this year, if circumstances permit," Hayashi stated. He also mentioned that a meeting of leaders from the Central Asia plus Japan association is being planned to mark the initiative's 20th anniversary in 2024. This association includes Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan.
Hayashi emphasized that strengthening relations with Central Asian countries is "more important than ever" for Japan.
