As part of his official visit to Georgia, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov engaged in discussions with Chairman of the Parliament Shalva Papuashvili on a range of bilateral and regional issues.
The meeting highlighted the robust strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and Georgia, focusing on areas such as economy, trade, investment, energy, transport, and humanitarian cooperation, Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry told Caliber.Az.
The sides hailed the current level of cooperation and underscored the importance of further strengthening ties through initiatives like the Middle Corridor project. They also emphasized the significance of trilateral cooperation involving Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Türkiye, particularly at the parliamentary and ministerial levels.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov specifically briefed Chairman Shalva Papuashvili on Azerbaijan's preparations for the upcoming 29th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP29) to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change.
Bayramov highlighted that COP29 presents new avenues for enhancing bilateral and multilateral cooperation between Azerbaijan and Georgia in environmental initiatives.
In addition to discussions on climate issues, Bayramov provided insights into the post-conflict developments in the region, emphasizing Azerbaijan's extensive reconstruction efforts in territories recently liberated from occupation.
He also briefed Papuashvili on Azerbaijan's ongoing initiatives to address the threat of landmines and the progress made towards normalizing relations with Armenia.
