Entrepreneurs convene in Azerbaijan's Shusha to spearhead Karabakh's economic revival
KARABAKH 28 June 2024 - 10:40
In a proactive initiative aimed at revitalizing Karabakh, entrepreneurs have gathered in Shusha for the event "New Opportunities for Entrepreneurs: Let's Revive Karabakh Together”, organized with the support of Azerbaijan's Ministry of Economy.
The event focuses on presenting investment opportunities and business prospects within the Karabakh and East Zangazur economic regions, Caliber.Az reports citing local media.
Discussions center on the model of public-private partnership, benefits for territories liberated from occupation, state support measures, and the pivotal role of entrepreneurs in the region's restoration and economic reintegration.
Panel discussions delve into investment projects earmarked for implementation, export potentials, logistics opportunities, and address queries from participants. Government-to-business (G2B) meetings are also scheduled, fostering direct engagement between policymakers and entrepreneurs.
Highlighting the economic progress, the opening ceremony for the event at Aghdam Industrial Park on June 27, underscored its significant role as the country's second-largest park, after Sumgayit Chemical Industrial Park.
Currently hosting 25 resident companies and six non-residents, the park has attracted investments exceeding AZN 216 million, leading to the creation of over 300 permanent jobs with plans to establish more than 2,000 workplaces.
Participants were also briefed on the economic prospects of Khankandi city, showcasing further opportunities for development and investment in the region.
