Major crackdown on cyber fraudsters in Türkiye

As part of Operation Sibergöz (Cybereye) -47, coordinated actions against cyber fraudsters were simultaneously conducted across 27 provinces in Türkiye.

Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya broke the news in a tweet, Caliber.Az reports.

"During the Sibergöz-47 operations, carried out in 27 provinces with centers in Mersin, Ağrı, and Antalya to counter betting and gambling in football and other sports competitions, 97 suspects with an account transaction volume of TRY21 billion ($641,968,462) were confiscated. Twelve residential houses, six cars, four motorbikes, bank accounts of e-money service providers, and crypto-assets worth about TRY194.150 from laundering criminal assets were seized. Unlicensed pistols, hunting rifles, and digital materials were also confiscated as a result of the operations," the tweet reads.
