Dutch government greenlights F-16 deliveries to Ukraine

The outgoing Dutch government has announced that it will soon deliver the first of 24 promised F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine, Caliber.Az reports via foreign media.
Defence Minister Kajsa Ollongren confirmed this in a letter to parliament ahead of a government transition, following months of coalition building post-election last year.
She mentioned that the necessary permits for the jets' delivery to Ukraine have been granted but refrained from specifying the exact number of planes or the precise delivery timeline for security reasons.
The Netherlands has been actively supporting an international coalition aimed at providing Ukraine with F-16s to bolster its air defences against Russia.
Previously, the Dutch government facilitated training for Ukrainian pilots and ground staff in Romania to operate and maintain these jets during combat situations.
In April, Ollongren had anticipated that deliveries promised by Denmark, the Netherlands, and the United States would commence within months.
