Israel eyes to begin military operation in Lebanon in mid-July
WORLD 02 July 2024 - 11:54
Israel plans to launch a military operation in southern Lebanon in the second half of July.
Western diplomats believe the operation could start in the third or fourth week of July, Caliber.Az reports citing the German media.
The exact dates for a potential attack of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) on Hezbollah have not been disclosed, but it is certain to occur after July 15. Several countries, including Canada, Germany, the Netherlands, Russia, the US, the UK, Saudi Arabia, Australia, Jordan, Ireland, North Macedonia, and Kuwait, have already advised their citizens to leave Lebanon or temporarily avoid traveling there.
The planned military operation reflects Israel's ongoing concerns about Hezbollah's growing military strength and the threat it poses to Israeli security. A renewed conflict could have significant implications for the region, potentially drawing in neighbouring countries and impacting international relations.
The success of Israel's planned operation will depend on various factors, including military strategy, international diplomatic responses, and Hezbollah's readiness and capabilities. The operation could either weaken Hezbollah's position in southern Lebanon or escalate into a broader conflict, with significant humanitarian and geopolitical consequences.
Israel's planned military operation in southern Lebanon underscores the persistent and volatile nature of its conflict with Hezbollah. The international community is closely monitoring the situation, given the potential for significant regional instability. The coming weeks will be critical in determining the trajectory of this long-standing conflict.
