Kazakhstan denies any delays in passage of Russian coal-carrying wagons

Kazakhstan's Industry and Infrastructure Development Information Ministry has denied information that Kazakhstan delays the passage of Russian railway wagons with coal through its territory.

The information is being actively disseminated in the CIS media space that Kazakhstan has allegedly blocked 1,700 railway wagons carrying Russian coal via its territory, according to Interfax.

"The Transport Committee of the Kazakh Industry and Infrastructure Development Ministry officially declares: these messages are fake stuffing," the report says.

The ministry noted that in reality there are no 1,700 wagons with Russian coal in the country. There are also no wagons with coal on the tracks of Russian Railways, standing in the direction of Kazakhstan or from Kazakhstan.

"We have everything in normal mode with Russian Railways, there are no delays in exports and imports," Interfax quotes Satzhan Ozbekov, the head of the committee's railway infrastructure and freight transportation department, as saying.

The ministry considers false information about Russian transit wagon delays to be intentional, with the goal of undermining good neighbourly relations between the two countries.
