Armenian separatist: Creation of “Nagorno-Karabakh” government in exile - dangerous idea
The creation of the "Nagorno-Karabakh" (“NKR”) government in exile is not only a bad but also a dangerous idea in all respects, which should be cut off from the root.
The remarks were made Vahram Atanesyan, a former "member of parliament" of the liquidated illegal entity in Karabakh, in his video message on the 1in.am channel and on his Facebook page, Caliber.Az reports.
Atanesyan is convinced that such a step would mean striving for the final collapse of the Armenian-Azerbaijani negotiation process, along with the dangerous consequences that follow.
“I will express a certain viewpoint, as a personal approach, regarding the creation of an ‘NKR’ government in exile. Such an idea is not only outdated and inappropriate but also extremely dangerous in today's situation. Because, in this situation, if any structure is created, which will be called an ‘NKR’ government in exile or parliament in exile, not only Azerbaijan and Turkey, but also the assessment of all parties involved will be negative, which will make the negotiating position of Armenia more difficult and will bring more problems to the Armenian government and the Armenian people,” the “MP” of the dissolved entity says.
“The problem here is not in the sphere of relations between the current Armenian authorities and the former Karabakh authorities. The problem is that recently in Stepanakert [Khankendi] the last ‘president’ of Nagorno-Karabakh dissolved the entity, and today the idea of recreating "NKR" is being discussed in Yerevan, which, I repeat, is not optimal, not modern, outdated and in many ways very dangerous and can bring additional challenges to the Republic of Armenia," Atanesyan added.
