Azerbaijan discusses defence industry cooperation with Türkiye, Israel
Azerbaijani Minister of Defence Industry Vugar Mustafayev engaged in significant discussions with high-level delegations from Türkiye and Israel, focusing on the enhancement of military cooperation and defence industry collaboration.
During his meeting with Türkiye’s Minister of National Defence Yaşar Güler and Chairman of the Defense Industry Committee Haluk Görgün at the Azerbaijan International Defense Exhibition ADEX-2024, the parties explored the future prospects for bilateral cooperation in military-technical fields and the defence industry sector, Caliber.Az reports, citing the ministry.
The discussions underscored both nations' commitment to strengthening their defence ties and advancing collaborative projects.
In another pivotal meeting, Mustafayev met with Rachel Shahar Horev, Deputy Director-General of the International Defense Cooperation Directorate (SIBAT) at the Israeli Ministry of Defense, along with regional director Yana Sherman.
The talks revolved around expanding existing relationships with Israel’s military-industrial complex. An agreement was reached to facilitate reciprocal business visits, aiming to deepen cooperation and explore new avenues for joint initiatives in defence technology.
ADEX-2024 has served as a vital platform for fostering international defence partnerships, showcasing Azerbaijan's growing role in the global defence sector. The meetings highlighted Azerbaijan’s strategic approach to enhancing its military capabilities through collaboration with leading defence nations, reinforcing its position as a key player in regional security.
