Azerbaijan hands over detained Armenian servicemen to Yerevan

Armenian serviceman Eduard Arthurovich Martirosov, who was detained by the Azerbaijani border guards on April 23, 2022, has been handed over to the Armenian side.

According to Caliber.Az, the press service of the Armenian Defense Ministry reported that the transfer took place on May 26 in accordance with the agreement reached on May 22 at a trilateral meeting in Brussels and through the mediation of the commander of the Russian peacekeeping forces temporarily stationed in the Karabakh region of Azerbaijan, Major General Andrei Volkov.

Caliber.Az has recently announced that Martirosov would be handed over to Armenia.

The Armenian servicemen was not found guilty in sabotage operations and crimes against Azerbaijan, and was revealed to cross the Azerbaijani border after losing his way based on the results of the investigation launched into his detainment.
