Azerbaijan, Latvia discuss cooperation in demining operations

Chairman of the Board of the Agency for Mine Action of the Republic of Azerbaijan Vugar Suleymanov met with Latvian Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence Artis Pabriks.

During the meeting, representatives of the two countries exchanged views on the possibilities of cooperation in demining operations, the Agency for Mine Action told Report.

Pabriks said that the mining of cemeteries testifies to inhumanity towards the civilians.

Suleymanov reported on the progress of work on priority projects outlined in the action plan for 2022, the gradual involvement of course participants in demining operations, training conducted in accordance with the International Mine Action Standards, as well as the use of artificial intelligence technologies.

Pabriks appreciated the demining operations in the liberated territories, as well as the scale of restoration work.
