Azerbaijani power company commissions 12 substations in Karabakh, Eastern Zangezur
President of Azerbaijan’s Azerenergy major electricity company Baba Rzayev has written that to date, Azerenergy has built and commissioned 12 substations in Karabakh and East Zangezur.
More than 700 kilometres of 330 and 110 kV high-voltage power lines were laid. All territories liberated from occupation are fully provided with electricity. It is important that all substations are connected to the Azerbaijani general energy system, Report informs, citing Rzayev’s article published on Azarbaycan newspaper.
He wrote that Khankendi city was connected to the Azerbaijani energy system four days after local anti-terror measures. The installed capacity of power plants that are being built or will be built in the territories liberated from occupation will be more than 370 MW.
“Moreover, the energy potential of the Sarsang hydropower plant and power plants in other territories where our sovereignty has been restored is about 80 MW. The potential of other types of “green energy” not only in the territories liberated from occupation, but throughout the country is quite high,” Rzayev wrote.
The president of Azerenergy noted that environmentally friendly energy will be exported due to the generating capacities obtained as a result of the establishment of solar and wind power plants with a capacity of 240 MW in the Absheron region, solar power plants with a capacity of 240 MW in the territory of the Karabakh economic region, Jabrayil district, wind power plants with a capacity of 100 MW in Kalbajar District, as well as new small hydroelectric power plants.
