Azerbaijani president, first lady lay foundation stones for several facilities in liberated Khojavand district UPDATED

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva have visited the Khojavand district.

The head of state and the First Lady were informed of the tourism projects to be implemented in the village of Tugh, Azertag reports.

Chairman of the State Tourism Agency Fuad Nagiyev noted that the Agency-proposed tourism conceptual approach provides for implementation of projects in three directions –cultural tourism, tourism industry based on the “green destination” and ecotourism concept as well as sustainable and community-based tourism development concept.

The first phase will see conservation of the residential building of the former school in the village of Tugh.

Landscaping is scheduled to be carried out around the territory of the Winery. The modern tourism concept will be applied for the Winery.

The Culinary Art Training Center will help popularize Azerbaijani cuisine and experimental culinary methods. The center will house kitchen, reception and tasting rooms.

Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the liberated territories of the Karabakh Economic Region (except Shusha district) Emin Huseynov informed the head of state and the First Lady of the buildings planned to be built in the public and administrative center of the Tugh village at the initial stage.

A two-storey administrative building, community club, cultural centers and a restaurant will be built in the administrative zone, which will cover an area of 1.63 hectares.

The construction and restoration works in the administrative center will end in March, 2024.

The 42km old road was shortened by 2.3 km and replaced with the new 39.7 km one.

Six bridges have been constructed over the four-lane highway with 18 bus stops set up.

The new highway will run through Khojavand, Fuzuli and Jabrayil districts and link some 20 residential areas including the settlement of Hadrut and city of Jabrayil.

The village will have an administrative building, hotel, cafe, restaurant, mosque, pharmacy, 480-seat secondary school, two kindergartens, a community club, library, etc.

The construction work will be completed in November, 2025.

The 4-lane Fuzuli-Hadrut highway is 14 meters wide.

The motorway bridge has been built at the 6.7 km section of the highway.

The total projected area of the village is 314 hectares. A total of 1,050 houses will be built for 4,495 people (1,129 families) in the village. The first phase will see the construction of 327 houses for 1,373 residents.

The facilities at the village will include an administrative building, mosque, pharmacy, medical point, 840-seat secondary school, two kindergartens, a community club, library, etc.

The construction work will be completed in November, 2025.

The residential complex, which occupies a total area of 8.9 hectares, consists of 38 buildings. A total of 846 apartments comprised of 318 two-room, 430 three-room and 98 four-room will be built in the residential complex. The construction of the residential complex will be completed by the end of 2023.
