Azerbaijanis in US call for legal assessment of Armenia's inhuman actions
The fact of torture against Azerbaijani servicemen captured by Armenia caused great indignation among the Azerbaijani community living in the United States.
In a statement addressed to international structures on behalf of the Azerbaijan American Women's Society in New York, the American Azerbaijan Integration Center, the Utah-Azerbaijan Friendship Organization, the George Washington University Azerbaijani Students Association, the Azerbaijan Cultural Center of Northern California, the Florida Azerbaijan American Cultural Association, The Azerbaijan-American Society of Florida, the Azerbaijan-American Youth Association, drew attention to the inhuman treatment in Armenia of soldiers of the Azerbaijani army - Babirov Agshin Gabil oglu, born in 2004, and Akhundov Huseyn Ahliman oglu, born in 2003, Caliber.Az reported on April 19, citing the State Committee for Work with the Diaspora.
It was noted that Armenia does not fulfill its obligations under important international acts, including the Geneva Convention, the conventions against torture and other cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment.
The protestors demanded that the relevant international organizations investigate this fact of violence, give it a legal assessment, and immediately and unconditionally release the Azerbaijani servicemen.
