Belarus to introduce visa-free regime for Polish citizens
The Belarussian State Border Committee has said that Polish citizens will be able to enter Belarus without visas through all checkpoints on the border with the EU from March 2, 2023.
"Taking into account the high demand for the Belarusian visa-free regime, the country's leadership has made a decision about visa-free entry for Polish citizens at all Belarusian checkpoints on the border with the EU," TASS reports citing the State Border Committee.
The decision will be valid from midnight March 2 to December 31, 2023.
“Earlier, Polish citizens could enter Belarus without a visa only on the Belarusian-Polish section of the border,” the report said.
President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko supported the proposal of the Belarusian Council of Ministers and the Foreign Ministry on December 21, 2022 to extend the visa-free regime for entry into Belarus for 2023 for residents of Latvia, Lithuania and Poland.
Initially, such an entry procedure was introduced for residents of Lithuania and Latvia from April 15 to May 15, 2022, then a decision was made to extend such an entry procedure for residents of these countries and Poland until the end of the year.
Currently, citizens of Lithuania and Latvia can pass through international checkpoints only on the Belarusian-Lithuanian or Belarusian-Latvian sections of the border, respectively.
