Centennial work done in Türkiye over past 20 years

Turkish Minister of Environment, Urban Planning and Climate Change Murat Kurum has said that centennial work has been done in Türkiye over the past 20 years.

Kurum voiced the statement after voting in the presidential and parliamentary elections in Istanbul, according to Report.

"We will continue our fight to the end for a great and powerful Türkiye. We are fighting and will continue to fight to make our economy one of the strongest economies in the world," he added.

Voting in Türkiye’s presidential and parliamentary elections started at 08:00 local time (09:00 Baku time). The process will end at 17:00 pm (local time).

There are more than 191,000 polling stations throughout the country. A total of 64,113,941 voters have been registered to vote in the process, of whom 60,697,843 are scheduled to vote on May 14. Over 3.41 million voters living abroad cast their votes a few days ago.

Three politicians - incumbent President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, People's Republican Party chairman Kemal Kilicdaroglu and the Ata İttifakı coalition candidate (Atatürk Coalition) - are running for president. A fourth candidate, Fatherland Party Chairman Muharrem Ince announced his withdrawal from the presidential race three days before the election.

The fourth candidate, the chairman of the Fatherland Party, Muharrem Ince, announced his withdrawal from the presidential race three days before the elections.

Simultaneously with the presidential election, elections to the 600-member Grand National Assembly (parliament) are taking place in 87 constituencies. There are 36 parties competing for parliamentary seats.
