Cultural center in New York celebrates Azerbaijan's Independence Day PHOTO
An event has been organized at the Azerbaijan Cultural Center in New York (ACCNY) on the occasion of May 28 - Independence Day.
The event, organized by the head of the Center, Honored Artist of Azerbaijan Telman Jalil, was attended by compatriots living in the city, Report informs.
Jalil described Azerbaijan's achievements in the international arena as the result of the state policy laid down by the great leader Heydar Aliyev and successfully continued by President Ilham Aliyev. He also touched upon the active work of Azerbaijani youth living and studying in New York to promote Azerbaijani culture in the US.
The head of the Center expressed special gratitude and awarded honorary diplomas to Aidan Demirova and Farzana Babayeva, who represented Azerbaijan at a high level by performing one of the oldest Azerbaijani folk dances "Uzundere" at the cultural festival in New York.
