EU concerns about abstentions on anti-Russian resolution
13 October 2022 14:10
The EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell has said he was concerned about the too large number of abstentions in the UN General Assembly on the anti-Russian resolution.
“About 20% of the world community has decided not to support or reject the Russian annexation. For me, this is a lot,” TASS quotes him as saying at the opening of the European Diplomatic Academy in Bruges.
At the same time, the politician emphasized that he was satisfied with the voting results. Borrell said that a lot of work has been done to get over the threshold of 140 supporting countries.
He stressed that the EU will continue its diplomatic work.
