Former minister slams Armenia’s desire to buy expensive Western weapons
18 March 2024 12:36
Armenian former Defence Minister, Major General Arshak Karapetyan has refuted Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's statement about the negotiations.
"No negotiations are held with Pashinyan, only demands are put forward," Karapetyan said in an interview with the Armenian media, commenting on the press conference with Pashinyan and his statements, Caliber.Az reports.
The former defence minister also commented on the desire of the Armenian authorities to purchase expensive Western weapons which the Armenian soldiers can not use.
“Instead of arming itself, it was necessary to competently manage the army and not to leave the weapons worth $5 billion on the battlefield for Azerbaijan,” he added.
