Iran threatens Israel amid rising tensions with Lebanon
Iran's acting Foreign Minister Ali Bagheri Kani has issued a stern warning to Israel, stating that resistance forces in Lebanon are fully prepared to counter any Israeli threats, as he had a phone talk with Turkish counterpart Hakan Fidan.
"The Zionist regime's (Israel) threats reflect its barbaric nature, but at the same time the resistance in Lebanon is fully prepared to face these threats," Bagheri Kani said, Caliber.Az reports per foreign sources.
He emphasized that any invasion of Lebanon would be costly for Israel.
The Iranian FM also remarked on Israel's recent challenges.
"Just as after nine months the Zionists failed to return everything to the way it was before October 7, they must now know that any mistake in Lebanon will create new conditions to their detriment."
This development follows the Israeli army's approval of an operational plan for an offensive in Lebanon, aimed at targeting the Shiite movement Hezbollah, which, like Hamas, periodically shells Israeli territory from the north.
