Kremlin rules out Erdogan's mediation in Ukraine talks

04 July 2024 10:26

The Kremlin has dismissed the possibility of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan mediating in talks to resolve the Ukrainian crisis, Caliber.Az reports citing Russian media.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov ruled out his mediation in an interview with state-owned Channel One.

When asked if Erdogan could act as a mediator in Ukraine talks, Peskov responded, "No, impossible."

Russian President Vladimir Putin discussed the Ukrainian issue with Erdogan during the SCO summit on July 3. At this meeting, Erdogan extended an invitation to Putin to visit Türkiye.

Peskov stated that the timing of Putin's visit will be coordinated through diplomatic channels.
