MFA: Media in Azerbaijan as free as in UK

Spokesman for the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry Aykhan Hajizada has written that the media in Azerbaijan is as free, democratic, stable and prosperous as in the UK.

Hajizada made these remarks in response to a statement by UK’s Ambassador to Azerbaijan Fergus Auld, Caliber.Az reports.

“Ambassador, your claims are unfair and biased. They are focused on a narrow perspective that does not comprehensively cover media freedom in Azerbaijan,” Hajizada wrote on X.

Fergus Auld, in his post on X, stated that the activity of the media outlets is limited in Azerbaijan.
