Ministry: Death toll in Gaza reaches over 40,000 due to Israeli actions

Gaza’s Health Ministry has announced that the number of Palestinians killed in the Gaza Strip due to Israeli military actions since the beginning of the operation in October 2023 is approaching 41,600.

"The death toll from Israeli actions in Gaza since October 2023 has risen to 41,595, with an additional 96,251 people injured," the ministry wrote on Telegram, Caliber.Az reports via Russian media.

Gaza’s Health Ministry noted that "over the past 24 hours, Israeli artillery strikes and bombings in various areas of Gaza resulted in the deaths of 9 Palestinians, with 41 others injured."

Tensions flared up again in the Middle East on October 7 after militants from the Gaza Strip-based radical Palestinian group Hamas launched a surprise incursion on Israeli territory, killing many Israeli kibbutz residents living near the Gaza border and abducting more than 240 Israelis, including women, children and the elderly.

Israel declared a total blockade of the Gaza Strip and launched bombardments of the enclave and some areas in Lebanon and Syria, as well as a ground operation against Hamas in the Gaza Strip. Clashes are also reported in the West Bank.
