Montenegro emphasizes strategic partnership with Azerbaijan Deputy PM says
Speaker of Azerbaijan’s Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova, who is on an official visit to Montenegro, has met with Deputy Prime Minister of the country Aleksa Bečić.
The sides exchanged views on the issues of cooperation between the two countries and their parliaments, Report informs.
It was said that the growth indicators of the Azerbaijani-Montenegrin cooperation in several areas made it possible to broaden the ties in other fields as well.
Saying relations between the two countries has the character of a strategic partnership, the Deputy Prime Minister said Montenegro attaches great importance to this relationship.
Gafarova recalled the previous conversation with Bečić and said that the cooperation between legislatures promoted the advance of the relations between Azerbaijan and Montenegro as a whole.
Speaker Gafarova informed Bečić of the current situation in the region, Azerbaijan’s peace initiatives, the construction and renovation work Azerbaijan is conducting in Garabagh and East Zangazur, and the large projects implemented there.
It was stressed that economic ties are among the principal components of the two countries’ bilateral relations. Azerbaijan’s role as a dependable partner in diversifying European energy supplies was pointed out, the potential of the two countries to expand cooperation in that area was mentioned. They also underlined the steady growth trend in the tourism sector, Azerbaijan’s significant role as a transit host equipped with modern transport infrastructure, and relevant cooperation opportunities. It was pointed out that a continued growth of ties in education, science, culture, youth and sports would foster the strengthening of the relations between the two countries and deepen people to people contacts.
The sides also exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest.
