Netherlands increases military support for Ukraine
The Netherlands has increased military support to Ukraine by 550 million euros ($602 million) since October.
The money worth more than 2.6 billion euros ($2.8 billion) will be mainly spent on military equipment, Gazeta.ru reports citing the Dutch Ministry of Defence.
The Netherlands has provided Kyiv with combat vehicles, air defence systems, weapons, ammunition, drones, mine clearance equipment, field hospitals, tents and medicines over the past two months. Spare parts for various types of weapons and vehicles were also transferred to Ukraine.
Moreover, the Netherlands has provided Ukraine with 45 T-72 tanks, about 100 Leopard 1 tanks, 196 YPR infantry fighting vehicles, eight PzH2000 artillery mounts, two Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems, missiles, mortars, rifles, machine guns and various types of ammunition since the beginning of the Russian special operation.
The Netherlands, together with Denmark, plan to provide Ukraine with 14 German Leopard 2 tanks in 2024. Dutch Defence Minister Kajsa Ollongren noted that F-16 fighter jets are planned to be transferred to Kyiv in 2024.
