Russia confirms negotiations on grain exports from Ukraine
The issues of supplying Russian potash fertilizers and exporting Ukrainian grain are being discussed, RIA Novosti quotes Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia, Alexander Pankin, as saying.
Earlier, the Wall Street Journal, citing diplomatic sources, reported that UN Secretary General António Guterres asked Moscow not to interfere with the export of grain from the Black Sea ports of Ukraine, and in return, promised to help ease sanctions against deliveries of fertilizers from Russia and Belarus.
"A complicated issue. You know, potash and mineral fertilizers, grain, the possibility of exporting Ukrainian grain is a complex tangle of issues that are currently being considered,” Pankin said, according to WJS.
At the same time, he clarified that the issue "is not discussed at the UN level, [but] is discussed together with us."
