Turkish army seizes over 1,000 PKK weapons in six months VIDEO
As many as 1,043 weapons of various types have been intercepted as part of Operation Pençe-Kilit (Claw-Lock) in northern Iraq since April 17.
The information came online on the Turkish National Defence Ministry's Twitter page, according to Caliber.Az.
The ministry said that there are 40 anti-tank missiles, 36 mortars, 106 RPG-7 grenade launchers, 22 grenade launchers, 50 anti-aircraft guns, 31 Zagros sniper rifles, 85 machine guns, 519 AK-47 assault rifles, 79 M-16 and 73 Dragunov sniper rifles among the seized weapons of the SA-18 air defence system.
The Turkish Armed Forces dealt a powerful blow to the PKK terrorists in the Western region in six months of merciless struggle, the ministry tweeted.
