Turkish deputy minister holds key talks in Baku during COP29
Adil Çalışkan, the Turkish Deputy Family and Social Services Minister, has held a series of important meetings in Baku on the margins of the COP29 climate conference.
Çalışkan participated in an event organized in cooperation with the State Committee for Family, Women, and Children's Affairs and ICESCO, Caliber.Az reports via Turkish media.
During his speech, he outlined the initiatives of the Ministry of Family and Social Services aimed at supporting women and children who have been affected by climate change. He also highlighted the crucial role of youth in building resilience against the impacts of climate change.
The Deputy Minister further attended an event organized by Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Labour and Social Protection, where he emphasized the importance of the “leaving no one behind” principle in climate action and reaffirmed Türkiye's commitment to this approach.
Following the events, Çalışkan met with Azerbaijan’s Minister of Labour and Social Protection, Sahil Babayev, to discuss ongoing and potential future cooperation between the ministries in the context of climate change. The discussions focused on joint efforts and exploring opportunities for further collaboration in addressing the social challenges posed by climate change.
