Turkish FM hails necessity to open Zangazur corridor

Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu has said that Türkiye would like a peace treaty to be signed between Azerbaijan and Armenia.

“It is necessary to open the Zangazur corridor, which should be created in accordance with the agreement reached between Azerbaijan and Armenia,” Media.Az quotes Cavusoglu as saying.

The minister also touched upon the issue of the Armenian diaspora, which hinders peace. 

“The Armenian diaspora has been divided into two groups. One group doesn't want to support normalisation, while another group supports it.

Some forces within Armenia are exerting pressure on the authorities. This hinders the normalisation of relations with Azerbaijan and Türkiye,” he added.
