Türkiye detains 25 over online threats following school-related attacks

Turkish law enforcement has launched a large-scale investigation into social media posts containing threats after attacks on schools in Kahramanmaraş and Şanlıurfa.
The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office said that accounts spreading messages about possible “attacks on schools” were analysed. Following the review, arrest warrants were issued for 25 suspects, Caliber.Az reports via Turkish media.
Among those detained are 13 minors. They face charges related to creating threats intended to spread panic among the public, as well as incitement of hatred and hostility.
According to investigators, 20 of the suspects are located outside Istanbul. The investigation is ongoing.
