US Secretary of State: Russia has already lost

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken has said that Russia lost the war after four months of its full-scale military invasion of independent Ukraine.

“The Ukrainians are defending their lands courageously while Russia has already lost this war. Russian President Vladimir Putin's goal, as he himself said, was the destruction of Ukraine as an independent and sovereign country. Russia failed to achieve this goal,” Korrespondent.net reports referring to Blinken’s statement made during a briefing.

He stressed that sovereign and independent Ukraine will exist longer than Putin will live, while the Russian Federation, despite slight success in Donbas, has suffered big losses.

“According to our intelligence, Russian troops are suffering from low morale, high death rates, problems with military equipment problems, leadership refusing to inform them of the real situation on the battlefield,” Blinken noted.

Blinken added that Russia, despite achieving some success in Donbas, is far from a decisive victory, and its achievements are very costly.

“According to the reports, tens of thousands of Russian military personnel have been killed or injured since the beginning of the invasion. Russia continues losing numerous tanks, aircraft, armoured vehicles,” the US Secretary of State noted.

He added that even in case of a further offensive, Russia will occupy the cities which it has completely destroyed, while the Ukrainian military will retreat to more fortified positions in which they can effectively defend themselves.
